Every year there’s the same debate, should you go for a real tree or an artificial tree? There are good points to both sides of the argument, so we offer both options, we’d be fools not to. However, there’s a side that we definitely fall in favour of and that is real trees. One of the main arguments for artificial trees is the ‘green factor’. For a long time artificial trees have been seen as more environmentally friendly, this isn’t always the case.
We have been, and always will be, believers in sustainable Christmas trees. You can read about exactly how our real trees do their part for the environment here (https://www.pinesandneedles.com/sustainable-christmas-trees). There’s no need to worry, a tree from Pines and Needles is a green tree in more than colour. However, that’s not the only reason a real tree is better for the environment. The telegraph discuss why it’s time to ditch the artificial tree and go for the real deal. (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/greenerliving/6787159/Ditch-fake-Christmas-trees-to-save-planet.html) As seen here, to make an artificial tree as environmentally friendly as a traditional tree you’d need to use it as least ten times. That’s a lot of time to be storing a single tree… A real tree, that’s disposed of appropriately will always be better, put the myth to bed.
There are plenty of other reasons we prefer our real trees. Christmas is always about so much more than the ‘look’. Anyone could decorate their home without love and it wouldn’t quite feel like the season. Just think of the smell. That beautiful scent that a Christmas tree subtly fills a room with, it’s unforgettable and just as you grew up associating it with such a beautiful day so will those around you. Tradition doesn’t necessarily mean old hat, or incorrect, traditions are formed not out of habit but out of passion and the use of real Christmas trees embodies this passion. They represent the season, they represent the date and they capture all the vivid emotions on the day.
Finally, what better way to start the season than a family day out shopping for that ‘perfect tree’? It’s a magical experience to come down to one of our pop ups and embrace the season! Our tree experts will be on hand throughout to guide you through and, offer any extra information you might need. It’s a fantastic day out with some delightful and passionate people that will leave you, without a doubt, in the knowledge that this is how Christmas is meant to be.
So! Go for the real thing! Christmas should be all about ‘the real’. Real memories, real emotions and most importantly (if you ask us) real trees.
